Varian M-Series pumps are industrial oil diffusion pumps which feature very low backstreaming rates compared to other pumps. A rebuild involves chemical decontamination, disassembly and ultrasonic degreasing. A complete resurfacing of the jet assemblies may be needed for badly damaged pumps. The cooling coils are cleaned and tested. The heating element is tested and replaced if necessary.
